A: The Initiative
Fred: First, we dam up the rivers to create reservoirs. We dig boreholes where there are no available surface streams. We build a network of aqueducts and pipelines to carry water to the hinterlands. We built desalination plants using graphene filters to purify seawater. Finally, we raise aloft steel cables, suspended by high-altitude balloons, for atmospheric water to condense on, and trickle it into storage tanks. We don't ask the Gods for rain— we take it!
B: Change On The Horizon
Fred: I knew I would someday lead this country— and I wanted to make certain I would be a good leader. I have access to all the technology we'd need to bring my plans to fruition.
Fred: The greatest challenge will be in convincing a primitive-minded, suspicious population that these changes will bring them great benefits.
