Fred: And anyway, we turn our offspring over to the Brigade, and many of them die—
Kathy: Well— that's different.
Fred: It is? How so?
Kathy: Well— they're warriors, not... commodities. They have a choice. They have a chance to live—
Fred: Ma'am, if you think that, then you do not understand the Brigade.
B: Unsuitable
Kathy: Oh, come on! There has to be a better way!
Fred: There isn't. These people are unsuited for doing anything besides breeding and eating. They couldn't earn money even if they tried.
Fred: It's difficult to have a cash economy, when you don't have any fingers.
