(Kathy and Fred, his glasses off, snuggle in her hospital bed)
Kathy: So... what comes next?
Fred: Well, once you've sufficiently recovered, you will be presented to the Empress. Then there will be the Investiture, your presentation to the people of Rackenroon, and the traditional one hundred gun salute celebrating the birth of an Heir. It's parties all the way down.
Fred: Followed, of course, by the, ah, Royal Wedding— which is its own whirlwind of preparations, presentations, plans, protocol, and parties—
Kathy: Do we get any alone time, now?
Fred: I shall have to check my schedule.
B: 'Tis Better To Beg Forgiveness
Kathy: And... how is...?
Fred: She'll live. Unfortunately. I wish you hadn't spared her life. If you had killed her off, all our problems would be over now.
Kathy: But the Empress said—
Fred: She would have forgiven you. Jinjur, on the other hand, will never forgive you for the way in which you humiliated her. She may be an even greater threat now— because she has nothing left to lose.
