Fred: You walked right into her trap! She wants to prove that you're not worthy to be the Heir! If you had let me handle it, I was about to have her arrested for sedition and treason— which was my plan from the beginning! I had my men there, armed and ready!
Fred: You wouldn't have to fight her! But you accepted her challenge, and the way things work in this barbaric country, you're now committed to facing her in mortal combat! Which you will invariably lose! To try to get you out of it would reflect very badly upon you! Whatever happens, Jinjur got what she wanted!
Kathy: Why didn't you say something?
Fred: YOU DIDN'T GIVE ME THE CHANCE!

Timo: Wow— they must really love each other, if he feels confident enough to yell at her, and she's not ripping his head off!
Lucius: I've never seen anything like it!
Uri: S'beautiful, Man!
Fred: Ma'am, listen to me— until you learn how things work here, you have to let me manage things for you. It's the only way... Jinjur stole the show tonight— now we have to prove ourselves in the court of public opinion. And it's you and me against a nation of barbarians. What we see as civilized, compassionate behaviour, they see as a serious character weakness! You see how Jinjur has caught you? Even if you win the duel, without the respect of your people, your reign will end before it begins.
